Srinath Srinivasa, Dean (R&D) at IIITB Bangalore and head of its Web Science lab, holds a Ph.D. (magna cum laude) from Germany’s GkVI, an M.S. (by Research) from IITM, and a B.E. from NIE Mysore. His research focuses on Web Science, exploring the societal impacts and potential of the WWW for social empowerment. Srinath has contributed to technology-enhanced education through initiatives like Edusat, NPTEL, Educatis, and IIITB’s Upgrad program. He is actively involved in international conferences such as ICWSM, ACM Hypertext, COMAD/CoDS, ODBASE, BDA, and ACM Web Science, serving on various committees. Engaged in academic community outreach, he has been on the boards of Goa University and NIE Mysore, and has reviewed for journals like VLDB, IEEE TKDE, and IEEE Cloud Computing.
